Summer Book Discussion: Joy, Inc.
Most people would like to get out of bed in the morning eagerly anticipating the work day. For how many of us is that actually true? Join us to read Joy, Inc. by Richard Sheridan, as we have conversations about what makes "a workplace people love."
This reading group will meet on Fridays at 11am for ten sessions, May 29-Aug 7 (no meeting July 3), combining or excluding some chapters to get through the entire book. We'll stop for fall rush, and then end our look into joy at work with an optional day-long road trip to Ann Arbor to visit the author’s company, Menlo Innovations, in early fall (date TBD).

Workshop: It Starts with You: Creating a Personal Leadership Plan
We have partnered with Martie Adler, Organizational Development Consultant, at central HR to have this workshop delivered to our IT leaders. If you would like your team to quickly understand your standards, expectations, and goals easily and from one piece of paper, this seminar was designed for you. We will evaluate four aspects of leadership: leading yourself, leading the thinking, leading your people, and leading a balanced life. Understanding the relationship between them will also help us to consistently apply our plan.
The goals of this seminar are to provide you with learning and methodology to:
  • Clearly and succinctly articulate who you are as a leader.
  • Clarify, for yourself and your team, the heart of your personal leadership philosophy.
  • Develop a plan to lead according to your individual leadership philosophy on a daily basis.
  • Put your plan into action.
