It’s been proven that environmental and psychological triggers can easily derail us —both work and in life. The key is to first identify these triggers and then make some new choices in terms of how we want to act and react; creating a plan to become our best selves. In this workshop, we will:
  • Identify times when we know we are not at our best like when we get easily frustrated or irritable. Or how we get flustered if someone questions something we said.
  • Determine what triggers are keeping us trapped in habitual behaviors that do not serve us well.
  • Discover ways to overcome the trigger events in our lives (get off the trigger train!) and create meaningful change that allows our best self to front and center.
Workshop Specifics
  • When: Thursday, December 3rd, 1pm - 4pm
  • Where:
    • IUB: Innovation Center 105
    • IUPUI: IT-303
    • IUPUC: LC 1512
    • IU Northwest: Hawthorn Hall 105

UITS Cares
UITS Cares is a group of UITS staff members who work on multiple campuses across many divisions. But making a living in technology isn’t the only thing we have in common. Each of us is also committed to engaging with our local communities through service work. In fall 2015, we founded UITS Cares to communicate about and share resources related to community service.

Leadership Lessons - Amy Cuddy on Body Language
Body language affects how others see us, but it may also change how we see ourselves. Social psychologist Amy Cuddy shows how “power posing” — standing in a posture of confidence, even when we don’t feel confident — can affect testosterone and cortisol levels in the brain, and might even have an impact on our chances for success.
