One of the best ways to share and distribute information is through conferences and presentations, both online and in person; however, several presentation techniques are not inclusive to all audience members. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 4 adults in America have some sort of disability that impacts their everyday lives, including how they receive and process information. Therefore, as presenters, we need to consider the way we present information in order to ensure all members of the audience clearly understand what is being presented.
In this presentation, Jen gave some tactics for creating more accessible and inclusive presentations, including:
- Creating more accessible visuals
- Adding effective and inclusive video or audio to your presentation
- Having a more accessible personal presentation style
